Parenting Program was proposed and implemented by Shauoor Welfare Foundation aimed at supporting parents in effectively nurturing and guiding children between the ages of 5 to 15, addressing a critical phase in a child’s development. Our unique approach incorporates a 100-day trial period to ascertain the tools’ effectiveness. We take immense pride in receiving the consistent enthusiastic and extraordinary feedback from parents,
boasting an unparalleled 100% success rate. In this project, we emphasize a hands-on/hands-off approach without direct interaction with the child; instead, we focus and ensure sole involvement of both of the parents. The project mainly aims to enhance parenting skills, leading to positive outcomes for the child’s overall well-being and growth. The broader scope of the project addresses essential aspects of child development, encompassing physical health, mental health, education, character building, and manners. Consequently, educating parents in these areas, we aim to create a lasting positive impact on the lives of both parents and children
alike.
Approach
The project will operate with a hands-off approach towards the children. Focusing solely on the parents’ guidance and interactions, our volunteers identify some 3-4 families in their social circles with children in the target age group. The parents will be invited to a comprehensive parenting session where they are guided about the project’s goals, the recommended productive parenting approach, and the tool’s potential benefits. Past
experience has shown that over 90% of parents respond positively to this approach, leading to high motivation and acceptance.
Implementation Having attended the parenting sessions, parents make use of the parenting tool with their children. Weekly follow-ups are conducted to ensure that the tool is being used correctly and to offer guidance and support for any challenges faced by the parents. Additionally, regular sessions are scheduled to analyze progress and address any concerns that may arise during the trial period.
Expected Results
The Parenting Project yields positive outcomes at three levels:
Volunteers
Volunteers participating in the project gain valuable experience in social work, contributing to the betterment of society. They will be associated with a noble cause, leading to personal growth and development.
Parents
The trial period becomes an opportunity for parents to refine their parenting skills and overcome their personal weaknesses. Encouraging discipline and promoting goodwill naturally instill in them valuable lessons and refine their personalities as well as their mindset. Improved parenting approach is observed resulting in enhanced relationships with their children and a conducive home environment.
Children
Through this project, children experience holistic grooming of their personalities. With the guidance and support of their parents using the parenting tool, they will develop essential interpersonal skills and values. The long-term impact is evident as they grow into responsible, honest, and just individuals, making a significant positive benefaction to
society.
Conclusion
With a 100-day trial of our effective parenting tool, the project aims to empower parents as better caregivers and guides for their children. By focusing on physical and mental health, education, character building, and manners, the project seeks to create a positive and lasting impact on children’s lives and ultimately, on the society as a whole. The enthusiastic feedback received from parents and the 100% success rate of the tool’s application further validates the effectiveness of this project.
