In this session, he highlighted that the parenting program provides a structured and effective system for bringing positive change in children’s practical lives and for developing their personalities.
During the session, “My Diary” was introduced as a practical parenting tool designed to improve children’s daily routines and upbringing. Mr. Tanveer Ahmad Khan explained that this diary includes a comprehensive checklist of developmental points, through which children’s training and individual personality development are carried out in a systematic manner.
He further shared that this diary helps instill habits such as offering regular prayers, reading the Holy Quran, and reciting Durood Sharif, so that children’s lives are connected with the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet ﷺ. He emphasized that it is the responsibility of parents to strengthen their children’s connection with religious values, as true success and strength lie in this foundation. Additionally, children are encouraged to begin every task with “Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim – In the Name of Allah” which builds their confidence and trust in Allah.
Mr. Tanveer Khan placed special emphasis on the importance of truthfulness, stating that a child’s goodness is primarily based on honesty. Even if a child is weak in other areas but speaks the truth, they are considered a good child. On the contrary, a child who performs well academically but lies or behaves poorly cannot be considered truly good. Therefore, parents should appreciate and encourage children when they speak the truth, nurturing them on the path of honesty and integrity.
The diary also includes key training aspects such as gratitude, obedience, manners of speech, and maintaining good relations (Silah Rahmi). Children are taught to be thankful for Allah’s blessings, obey their elders, use polite language, and treat others with kindness and cooperation. Their daily performance is marked with ✔️ and ✖️, which motivates them to improve and strive for better behavior.
Moreover, children are encouraged to become self-reliant by managing their own tasks, such as organizing their school belongings. They are also guided to help their parents, serve elders, avoid wasting resources, show kindness to animals, and maintain cleanliness and organization in their surroundings.
From an academic perspective, children are motivated to complete their homework regularly and engage in additional study to become diligent learners. Similarly, routines related to sleep, eating habits, hygiene, physical activity, and controlled screen time are structured to ensure balanced development.
The diary also enables weekly performance evaluations, through which parents can identify areas where their child needs improvement and focus on those aspects in the coming weeks.
Mr. Tanveer Khan further explained that this parenting tool has been continuously refined through research and feedback. Both parents are given proper training by Shauoor volunteers to ensure effective implementation according to the child’s psychological needs.
He concluded by stating that “My Diary” is most effective for children up to the age of 15, as this is the period when their personality foundation is being developed.
At the end of the session, Rija Jaffer, dietitian and coordinator at Maan Ghar, and trainer Ayesha Mushtaq also shared their experiences regarding the use of “My Diary” with the girls at Maan Ghar. Dr. Shahida Noumani presented her analysis, stating that this diary has produced highly positive, remarkable, and unexpected results within a short period. She added that daily practice of the diary has significantly contributed to the upbringing of the girls and helped address their psychological challenges.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks and a closing prayer by Mr. Tanveer Ahmad Khan, praying that Allah grants us success in nurturing children and building a morally strong and responsible generation. Ameen.
