Qurat-ul-Ain is a professional social worker serving as an Admin at the Shauoor Community Development Center, a project of Shauoor Welfare Foundation located in Begum Kot, Lahore. According to her, the center is now fully operational, and with each passing day, a growing number of children are enrolling with hope, enthusiasm, and new dreams. Our mission is to promote positive change by providing access to education and skill development, and to build a strong, self-reliant, and sustainable society.
Initially, three key programs have been launched at the center: a Non-Formal School, a Sewing Center, and Beautician Courses. The purpose of these programs is to support orphaned, underprivileged, and vulnerable children—especially girls—by equipping them with both education and practical skills so they can lead independent lives. Through the Non-Formal School, children aged 4 to 18 who were previously out of school due to various challenges or difficult home environments are being given the opportunity to learn. The goal is to make them literate, confident, and capable of building a better future, ultimately helping to break the cycle of poverty and illiteracy. Similarly, vocational training programs such as sewing and beautician courses are being offered to older girls, enabling them to gain practical skills, stand on their own feet, and earn a dignified livelihood. Begum Kot is an underprivileged area where most residents rely on low-income, labor-intensive work. In such circumstances, this center has emerged as a ray of hope for widows and orphaned girls, guiding them towards self-reliance.
To achieve this noble mission, we have a team of experienced and dedicated teachers who are sincerely working to guide and support these children. Our aim is to bring positive change in as many lives as possible with your support. Your small contribution can make a big difference—it can support a child’s education, empower a woman with skills, and help a family become self-sufficient. The Shauoor Community Development Center is laying the foundation for a brighter future through education, training, and skill development, opening doors of opportunity for girls who never had access to schooling before.
This center is a significant step toward humanitarian service and social development, where women and girls are being empowered with skills, provided opportunities for dignified employment, and reconnected with education. Let us join hands with Shauoor Welfare Foundation to move this mission forward and contribute towards building a brighter, self-reliant, and dignified society.
