Even when husbands are present, many subject their wives to such severe abuse and oppression that these women lose the will to live.

Razia Baji, a dedicated member of Shauoor Welfare Foundation, bore the responsibility of raising her orphaned granddaughters alone. These little girls had neither a mother nor a father, and there was no male support in their home.

When Naseem Baji first came to Shauoor Welfare Foundation, she was extremely distressed. Her husband, a daily wage laborer, had fallen from a scaffold, breaking both his legs, leaving him bedridden.
