Mehak – Self-Sufficiency Through Small Business
Mehak comes from a Christian background and had been earning a respectable livelihood by working at a salon through her skills. After embracing Islam, she faced opposition from her family and was separated from her family relationships. In these difficult circumstances, she also had to leave her salon job and begin a new chapter of her life.

Hoping for a better future and employment opportunities, Mehak travelled to Dubai. She stayed there for around two months and made every effort to find work, but unfortunately, she could not secure suitable employment. Due to unfavorable circumstances, she had to return to Pakistan.
After returning to Pakistan, Mehak did not give up. Confident in her skills and abilities, she approached Shauoor Welfare Foundation for support in establishing a small salon of her own, so that she could turn her skills into a source of income and live her life with dignity.
With the support of generous donors, Shauoor Welfare Foundation provided Mehak with a complete salon setup. This support gave her more than financial assistance; it provided her with an opportunity to transform her skills into a sustainable livelihood and move from dependency toward self-reliance with dignity.
Today, Mehak is turning her skills into her strength and taking a meaningful step from self-reliance toward independence and a better future.

مہک – خودکفالت سے خودمختاری
مہک ایک مسیحی پس منظر سے تعلق رکھتی تھیں اور اپنے ہنر کی بدولت ایک سیلون میں کام کرکے باعزت روزگار حاصل کر رہی تھیں۔ اسلام قبول کرنے کے بعد انہیں اپنے گھر والوں کی مخالفت اور رشتے سے محرومی کا سامنا کرنا پڑا۔ ان مشکل حالات کے باعث انہیں سیلون کی ملازمت بھی چھوڑنا پڑی اور زندگی کا ایک نیا سفر شروع کرنا پڑا۔
اپنے بہتر مستقبل اور روزگار کی تلاش میں مہک دبئی بھی گئیں۔ وہاں تقریباً دو ماہ قیام کے دوران انہوں نے کام حاصل کرنے کی بھرپور کوشش کی، لیکن مناسب روزگار نہ مل سکا۔ حالات سازگار نہ ہونے کی وجہ سے انہیں واپس پاکستان آنا پڑا۔
پاکستان واپس آکر مہک نے ہمت نہیں ہاری۔ اپنے ہنر اور صلاحیت پر اعتماد رکھتے ہوئے انہوں نے شعور ویلفیئر فاؤنڈیشن سے اپنا ایک چھوٹا سا سیلون قائم کرنے کے لیے تعاون کی درخواست کی، تاکہ وہ اپنے ہنر کو دوبارہ روزگار کا ذریعہ بنا سکیں اور باعزت طریقے سے اپنی زندگی گزار سکیں۔
شعور ویلفیئر فاؤنڈیشن نے مخیر حضرات کے تعاون سے مہک کے لیے سیلون کا سیٹ اپ فراہم کر دیا۔ اس تعاون نے مہک کو صرف مالی مدد نہیں دی بلکہ اپنے ہنر کو مستقل روزگار میں تبدیل کرنے اور محتاجی سے خودکفالت کی طرف بڑھنے کا ایک باعزت موقع فراہم کیا۔
آج مہک اپنے ہنر کو اپنی طاقت بنا کر خودکفالت سے خودمختاری اور خوشحالی کی جانب قدم بڑھا رہی ہیں۔
