In this inspiring “Intellectual Awareness Session,” Air Commodore Khalid Chishti explains that the secret to success lies in your “focus” and “mental programming.” Referring to Tony Robbins’ famous quote, “Where focus goes, energy flows,” he illustrates its meaning through his own experiences as a Pakistan Air Force fighter pilot.

He recalls an incident from the 1980s during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. At a firing range near Peshawar, young Afghan boys risked their lives to collect hot bullet casings within just 10 to 12 seconds between fighter jet attacks, selling them later to earn a living. Their unwavering focus on a single goal enabled them to accomplish what seemed impossible. This powerful example shows that when your attention is fully directed toward a purpose, your energy naturally follows.
He also shares Albert Einstein’s famous quote: “It’s not that I’m so smart; it’s just that I stay with problems longer.” He explains that success is built not only on intelligence but also on “consistency,” patience, and perseverance.
Concluding the session, he emphasizes that one good effort is never enough. Just as eating one apple cannot keep the doctor away, lasting results come from doing the right things consistently. By changing your “mindset,” strengthening your focus, and developing disciplined habits, you can overcome limitations and achieve goals that once seemed impossible.
