His hair was messy, bones sharp beneath the skin, and his wide-open eyes looked human but hollow. He didn’t even have the strength to move his hand, let alone ask for help.
No one knew who he was—someone’s father, someone’s son, someone’s brother… or maybe, no one’s. He had clearly been starving for days. Yet people passed him by without a second glance. Not a single person paused out of pity or compassion.
After being turned away from multiple hospitals, a private hospital finally agreed to admit him. After having some food, he was able to whisper a few words. His first sentence broke us:
“Main kalla aan, mainu zehar de do.”
(“I’m alone. Just give me poison.”)
We cannot let this become normal. We must save not just this man but the dying humanity in our society. With great effort, he has started speaking again—slowly, hesitantly. But he needs better care. He needs us!

نہ کوئی اُس کو پہچانتا تھا، نہ اُس کا کوئی نام، نہ رشتہ۔ نہ معلوم وہ کسی کا باپ تھا، بیٹا تھا یا بھائی… یا شاید اس دنیا میں اُس کا کوئی بھی نہ تھا۔ کئی دن کا بھوکا لگتا تھا، مگر لوگ اُس کے پاس سے گزر جاتے، جیسے وہ نظر ہی نہ آیا ہو۔ ایک لمحے کے لیے بھی کسی نے اُس پر ترس نہیں کھایا۔
بہت سے ہسپتالوں سے دھکے کھانے کے بعد، آخرکار ایک پرائیوٹ ہسپتال نے اُسے داخل کر لیا۔ جب اُس نے کچھ کھایا، تو اُس کی سانسیں بحال ہوئیں اور اُس نے پہلی بار کوئی جملہ بولا۔
“میں کلا آں، مینوں زہر دے دو۔”
یہ ایک فقرہ انسانیت کے منہ پر طمانچہ ہے۔ ہمیں صرف اِس شخص کو نہیں بچانا، بلکہ اُس انسانیت کو بھی بچانا ہے جو ہمارے معاشرے سے ختم ہو رہی ہے۔ بڑی کوششوں کے بعد اب وہ تھوڑا تھوڑا بولنے لگا ہے، لیکن بہتر علاج کے لیے آپ کی مدد درکار ہے۔
