With a joyous heart, Shauoor’s excited volunteers visited the unknown man admitted in the hospital to present him a walker along with his favorite juice and sandwich, as the doctors had said it was time for him to start walking. Shockingly, they found out that the unknown man had passed away and no one even bothered to inform the Shauoor Team when they were in contact with the doctor on daily basis. He was getting better, he had even started talking. The Volunteers had given him a name too. They had worked so hard, from picking him up off the street to helping with his treatment. According to police sources, more than fifty unidentified dead bodies are picked up daily from just a few areas of Lahore. Who knows whose beloved son, father or brother is dying a painful death like this. It feels like where we live, the state does not exist. Perhaps we are a nation without guardians… an Abandoned Nation.
